WHAT is Hypopressives?

Hypopressives is a breathing and posture technique designed to reduce pressure in the abdominal and pelvic cavities. It is also sometimes known as Low Pressure Fitness. By practicing specific breathing patterns and postural adjustments, Hypopressives help to strengthen the core muscles, improve pelvic floor function, and enhance overall posture. The benefits of hypopressives include reduced back pain, prevention and treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, improved urinary incontinence, and enhanced athletic performance. This technique is especially beneficial for postpartum recovery, core stability, and general physical well-being.

HOW IS IT TAUGHT?

Hypopressives is taught through a structured program to ensure proper technique and maximise benefits. It can be learnt here in two ways; on a one-on-one basis over a period of approximately 5-6 weeks, allowing for personalised guidance and tailored adaptations, or it can be learned in a small group setting during a 6-week course, fostering a supportive environment while still receiving individual attention. Both formats provide comprehensive training, ensuring that participants master the breathing patterns and postural adjustments essential for effectively practicing hypopressives. The intensity and regularity of practice most beneficial will depend on each individual case, but daily self-practice between sessions is key to achieving optimal results.

TESTIMONIAL

“I have really enjoyed working with Bethia. She has a wide variety of experience which enables her to be very holistic in her approach to her clients, and to come at a problem from different angles (both in terms of techniques and cues) to try to find the fit that works for the individual. She makes me feel very safe in movement and very 'seen'. Hypopressives have been a really important part of my postpartum journey, I've found the practice both psychologically and physically beneficial. They've helped me move with intention, then relax and let go.”
